Redlands Seeks Resident Input Through Sixth Annual Communitywide Survey
REDLANDS — The city of Redlands is inviting residents to share their perspectives on municipal priorities and local quality of life through its sixth consecutive annual communitywide survey.
The city this week launched the National Community Survey, an initiative designed to gather direct input for local government decision-making. Redlands first utilized the program in 2021 to benchmark resident opinions.
Randomly selected households representing a cross section of the city's population will receive mailed survey invitations over the next few weeks. Officials urge selected residents to follow the provided instructions to share their feedback.
For residents who do not receive an initial mailed invitation, an open communitywide digital survey will be made available shortly. The city will announce the open launch on its social media channels, and residents can sign up to receive a notification at polco.us/n/res/signup. The survey period closes Aug. 26.
Developed by Polco, an independent consultant, alongside city staff, the survey allows Redlands to compare its data against municipal benchmarks across the nation. The data will also be compared against local results from the prior five years of surveys.
The questionnaire features inquiries regarding general quality of life, community characteristics, municipal service delivery and future city priorities. The digital survey is accessible in both English and Spanish.

The National Community Survey has been utilized by more than 350 jurisdictions across 46 states to assist leaders with strategic planning, service delivery and budget setting. The program is endorsed by the International City/County Management Association and the National League of Cities.
