Women's Lacrosse Dominates Linfield on the Road

The University of Redlands women's lacrosse team (3-1) began their Oregon road trip with a dominant 17-3 win over a Feb. 24 evening match against Linfield University, as they never trailed.
Four different Bulldogs scored for an early 4-0 lead. Those goals came from junior Ruby Czajkowski, seniors Emily Webster and Mallory Morrissey, with assists from seniors Jacqueline Landucci and Cailin Walker and sophomore Sophia Rangel.
Following a Wildcat goal late in the first, junior Ella Batarse opened the second quarter, scoring 38 seconds after the opening whistle. Her goal was the first of seven unanswered goals. Webster had two goals during the run with Rangel, sophomores April Bryant, Gwenyth Guico, and Czajkowski also adding a tally.

After conceding the first goal of the second half, Landucci took advantage of a player up opportunity at the 9:30 mark of the third. Czajkowski then followed with her own player up goal.
Leading 13-3 after 45 minutes, the Bulldog scored four goals in the fourth with them coming from Webster, Bryant, freshman Vanessa Flexen, and senior Catie Ramicone.
Sophomore Sophia Simonds had three ground balls and a caused turnover. Guico scored once and added two assists, two ground balls, a caused turnover, and a team-high five draw controls. Sophomore keeper Courtney Myers started and played the whole 60 minutes, making a save and picking up her second win of the season.
Redlands remains in Oregon for a matchup against George Fox University on Saturday at 11 a.m.
