Senior forward Anders Beckton boasts a 66.7% shot-on-goal percentage this season.

The University of Redlands men’s soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to eight games Saturday night following a 2-1 road victory over Whittier College.

With the win, Redlands improved to 8-1-4 overall and 5-0-2 in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.

The victory came on the heels of a 3-0 home shutout against Pomona-Pitzer on Oct. 7, which featured goals from Portland, Oregon senior Bo Robertson, San Diego senior Zachary Darmanyan, and Costa Mesa junior Jared Keyvan.

In Saturday's contest, Darmanyan set up senior Anders Beckton, of Seattle, for an opening goal in the fourth minute. Nine minutes later, Beckton returned the favor, connecting with Darmanyan in the 13th minute to push the Bulldogs ahead 2-0.

San Diego senior goalkeeper Jaden Nisperos anchored the defense with four saves to hold off Whittier's second-half surge.

Redlands travels to face Chapman University in Orange on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 4 p.m.
