Redlands DUI Checkpoint Results in Six Citations, One Vehicle Impounded
REDLANDS, Calif. — Six people were cited during a DUI checkpoint on Friday, May 15, according to local authorities.
Officers screened a total of 429 vehicles during the operation, which was conducted at Citrus Avenue and Church Street between 6 p.m. Friday and midnight Saturday.
Five drivers were cited for operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license, and one driver was cited for driving with a suspended license.
Officers also impounded one vehicle during the checkpoint.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data from reported impaired driving crashes.
The primary purpose of these checkpoints is to promote public safety by removing suspected impaired drivers from the road.
Funding for the checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
