o Men Arrested in Connection with Attempted Murder Outside the Flamingo

Two men have been arrested in connection with the Oct. 25 assault and attempted murder of a man outside a downtown Redlands bar, police said.

Anthony Ross Mariani, 33, of Redlands, was arrested Thursday morning, Nov. 5, on suspicion of attempted murder.

Kyle Arthur Henriksen, 37, of Yucaipa, was arrested Wednesday, Oct. 28, on suspicion of battery with serious bodily injury.

Shortly after 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, police officers responded to a report of a man down in the street outside the Flamingo Cocktail Lounge, 338 Orange St.

Arriving officers found the 36-year-old victim lying in the street with significant face and head injuries. Paramedics transported him to a hospital, and he has since been released.

Detectives reviewed surveillance video that showed two men assault the victim, causing him to fall unconscious in the street. Before fleeing the scene, one of the suspects, later identified as Mariani, continued to assault the unconscious victim and dragged him from the curb into the center of the traffic lane. Video footage showed two vehicles swerving to avoid striking the victim.

Detectives identified the suspects using Flock automated license plate recognition cameras, city surveillance cameras and additional investigative resources.

On Thursday, Nov. 5, detectives arrested Mariani following a traffic stop near Citrus Avenue and Lincoln Street. He is held at the San Bernardino County Central Jail in lieu of $1 million bail.

Henricksen was arrested following a traffic stop near Alabama Street and Redlands Boulevard. He has since been released on bail.
