Man Arrested With Hundreds of Images of Child Sexual Abuse

Police arrested a 48-year-old Redlands man Wednesday, April 22, for possession of hundreds of images depicting child sexual abuse Material (CSAM).

Jason Michael Swantek was contacted as he traveled to work Wednesday morning by detectives investigating an online tip. Police later served a search warrant at Swantek’s residence in the 700 block of Greenwood Court and seized multiple devices containing images of CSAM.

During the investigation, detectives also found video recordings and photographs taken surreptitiously from the street of young children on school campuses and other locations in Redlands.

Swantek was transported to the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino. He is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.

This investigation is part of an ongoing operation by the Internet Crimes Against Children regional task force to crack down on the sexual exploitation of children online.  The regional task force includes law enforcement agencies from San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.
