CRY-ROP Superintendent Dr. Jason B. Angle Named 2026 ‘Superintendent to Watch’

CRY-ROP Superintendent, Dr. Jason B. Angle was honored at the California School Public Relations Association Conference in San Jose.
The California School Public Relations Association (CalSPRA) has named Jason B. Angle a 2026 "Superintendent to Watch." Angle, the superintendent of the Colton-Redlands-Yucaipa Regional Occupational Program (CRY-ROP), was recognized for his leadership in communication, innovation, and student-centered education.
The Superintendent to Watch Award honors California leaders who demonstrate exceptional skill in advancing strategic communication and strengthening community trust. Angle was officially recognized during the CalSPRA Annual Awards Gala on March 13 in San Jose.
Since joining CRY-ROP, Angle has modernized Career Technical Education (CTE) across the Colton, Redlands, and Yucaipa regions. Key initiatives under his leadership include securing Strong Workforce funding for advanced equipment and launching a new aviation career pathway.
"Dr. Angle exemplifies the kind of leadership that strengthens both education and community," said Jessica Hull, Immediate Past President of CalSPRA. "His commitment to telling students’ stories demonstrates how strategic communication can inspire students to see new possibilities for their future."
Angle has also overseen the launch of digital outreach series such as "Pathways to the Future" and "On the Horizon," which highlight student achievements. His hands-on approach involves regular visits to middle schools, high schools, and adult education programs to engage directly with staff and students.
