Animal Services Center to host ribbon-cutting of facility expansion.

The city of Redlands invites the community to a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Animal Services Center kennel expansion at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at the City of Redlands Animal Services Center, 504 Kansas St. This project enhances the Redlands Animal Services Center’s ability to care for animals by providing safer, more comfortable kennels and increased capacity for those awaiting adoption.

The expansion honors the legacy of George Fikrle, a Marine and devoted community member, whose generosity helped make the project possible. Inspired by Lucy, a dog he and his wife Frankie adopted from the Redlands Animal Services Center, Fikrle made a meaningful donation in her honor.

His gift will benefit countless animals for years to come.

The ceremony will include brief remarks, an official ribbon cutting, and tours of the new facilities.
