REDLANDS — David Ireland and his family celebrated 30 years of serving the Inland Empire on Saturday, Aug. 8, marking a three-decade milestone for Redlands Ranch Market.
Since opening its doors in 1996, the market has offered an extensive selection of international groceries alongside full-service fresh counters, including a tortillería, bakery, traditional cocina, and juice bar.
The Independent Grocers Alliance (IGA) joined in the festivities, linking the store's anniversary with the alliance’s own centennial celebration. Redlands Ranch Market was selected as one of only five stores nationwide to represent the IGA brand during its 100th anniversary.
"It’s a great community to be a part of for 30 years," Ireland said. "We have a great team and have done a great job here. We are just having fun with it, and we are really honored. It’s 30 years for us, but it's also 100 years for IGA."
Mayor Mario Saucedo offered remarks during the event, which drew local patrons and industry leaders alike.
Among the guest speakers were Brad Morres, senior director of global accounts for The Coca-Cola Co., and Doug Walter, West Coast area director for IGA. Walter highlighted the role independent grocers play within the global organization.
"Entrepreneurs like David are the key ingredient here," Walter said, noting that IGA provides training and operational tools to support its network. "This year, as IGA celebrates its 100-year anniversary, we wanted to develop a program sponsored by The Coca-Cola Co. called 'In It for the Long Haul.' We wanted to host a store party and bring recognition to retailers like David and his family."
