Japanese Culture on display for Sakura

REDLANDS, Calif. — On Saturday, April 18, the Redlands Japanese Cultural Center hosted its first Sakura Festival at Escape Brewery.

Visitors were treated to demonstrations of traditional Taiko drumming, judo and jujitsu performances with weapons, and a kimono presentation: the cultural meaning behind it, and a demonstration as to how to correctly put one on.

Additionally, they hosted an origami workshop (the art and technique of paper folding) and bonsai presentations.
